How to Make this Creamy Tomato Soup without a Ninja Foodi Blender

I prefer the Ninja Foodi soup-maker blender to the other options I’m about to share for two main reasons:

  • Add your ingredients to the Ninja Foodi Cold/Hot Blender and just walk away. 30 minutes later you have soup!
  • Since it’s a high-tech blender, it makes a smooth, creamy soup every time. No chunks or gritty consistency.

But if you don’t have a blender with a heat function, your regular blender will blend all the ingredients together, and then you can pour it into a pan and heat it on the stove.

You can also cook the soup on the stovetop in a pan and use a stick blender to blend it up. You’ll probably need to blend the soup for several minutes to reach a smooth consistency, though.

Ingredients for Ninja Foodi Blender Tomato Soup with Basil

Ingredients for Ninja Foodi Blender Tomato Soup, including canned tomatoes, vegetable broth, tomato sauce, herbs, butter, and heavy cream

You’ll need these ingredients for the soup:

  • San Marzano whole tomatoes
  • Vegetable broth
  • Tomato sauce
  • Dried basil
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder pepper
  • Celery salt
  • Butter
  • Heavy whipping cream

If you can’t find San Marzano tomatoes, you can substitute diced tomatoes with Italian herbs, but I think the San Marzano tomatoes are superior. They are usually a sweeter tomato than most brands of diced tomatoes I’ve tried.

If you do use diced tomatoes instead of the San Marzano tomatoes, the soup may taste a little more tangy or tart. Just add a bit more heavy cream to tone down the tartness.
